By Steve Carter

TIFTON — There is a lot going on as the Tift County Blue Devils prepare to go to Atlanta to face the Roswell High Hornets Saturday at the Georgia Dome in a 6 p.m. state Class AAAAA semifinal football game.

Here is a look at some of the things that are going on around town in preparation.

— Tickets are currently on sale at the high school office. The tickets are $15 each and can be purchased from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. until Thursday. On Friday, the tickets will be sold from 8:30 a.m.-noon.

Tickets will also be on sale at the Georgia Dome box office. All tickets are general admission and are good throughout the day.

— The Tift County Touchdown Club has chartered two buses for the trip to Atlanta.

The cost will be $25 per seat and each bus holds 56 seats.

Club President Richard Payne said the buses will leave between noon-1 p.m. The buses are then expected to arrive at the Georgia Dome between 3-4 p.m.

The buses are then scheduled to leave 45 minutes after the game is completed.

— You can also still help out the Tift County football team by joining the Touchdown Club. Membership forms are available at the www.tiftcountyfootball.com Web site.

— The Touchdown Club is also taking orders for Boston butts. The cost is $25 per butt. The orders will be taken until Friday and the butts can be picked up at the Tift County Field House on Dec. 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

If you are interested in the buses, joining the Touchdown Club or purchasing a Boston Butt, please contact Payne at 392-5339, Shirley Wilson at 392-5669 or Melanie Roberson at 821-0074.

— For those of you that would want a “Devil Walk” memento on your trip, One Vision Media Group is offering “Devil Walk” sweat suits that will be in stock Thursday. The adult sizes are $25 and the youth sizes are $20. You can call 382-8801 to place an order or for more information.

— One Vision Media Group and WTIF-FM are also teaming up for the Coach Jay Walls’ Moe’s Call-In Show tonight at Moe’s. The show will be broadcast live on WTIF-FM and will also be taped for broadcast on WONE-TV, channel 96.

— Finally, One Vision Sports will also be chartering a bus for the trip.

Called “The Ultimate Fan Experience”, the tickets are $35 apiece. The bus will leave the Tifton Mall parking lot in front of the old Winn Dixie building at noon and will return after the game.
