Can Berrien High keep it up? I think so.

TIFTON -- The 2008 high school football regular season is just about halfway complete, and every area team is in action tonight.
In fact, all eight Tiftarea teams will play a region game tonight.

Berrien Rebels at Albany High Indians
What can I say about the job Ryan Branch and staff are doing in Nashville? It's no mystery with this pick; Albany is not good and Berrien is much better than they were just one year ago. The Rebels will be 4-0-1 when the dust settles at Hugh Mills Stadium.

Berrien High 22, Albany High 9

Twiggs County Cobras at Turner County Rebels
Twiggs is usually a very good team in Class A, and both teams currently are 3-1. But Twiggs' defense gave up 63 points to a spread team last week in Wilcox County. Although I do not think Turner will score 63, I think they will have enough points on the board at the end of the game to win.

Turner County 31, Twiggs County 22

Hawkinsville Red Devils at Irwin County Indians
This could be a very entertaining game in Ocilla. If you check out common opponents, Irwin and Hawkinsville were both shut out by Fitzgerald by similar scores. I think the Red Devils escape Ocilla with a win.

Hawkinsville High 18, Irwin County 8

Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane vs. Cook High Hornets
With both teams coming off huge wins last Friday, the winner of this game could have an inside track to a first-round home playoff game or perhaps — a region championship. Cook has a very nice team, and will be healthy for this game. However, Fitzgerald is looking for more than a region title, and the Georgia Dome could be in the future for the Canes.

Fitzgerald High 35, Cook High 14

Cairo Syrupmakers at Worth County Rams
Worth County gets a huge opportunity, when the No. 1 team in Class AAA comes to town in the Cairo Syrupmakers. Cairo is very explosive, and a majority of their skill players are back from last year's state runner up team. Worth will hang around for three quarters, then the superior talent of Angelo Pease, Ronnie Wooten and Reginald Bryant will take over in the fourth quarter.

Cairo High 21, Worth County 9

Tiftarea Academy Panthers at Southwest Georgia Warriors
The No.1 ranked Panthers take to the road to face the Warriors in the first region game of the year in Damascus. The Warriors could make the playoffs out of GISA 3-AA, but the Panthers could be playing for more. Brookwood thrashed SGA last week 48-13, and Tiftarea defeated Brookwood earlier in the season handily.

Tiftarea Academy 38, Southwest Georgia 12

Tift County Blue Devils at Houston County Bears
The Bears come into this game limping, after two whippings handed to them by Coffee and Northside by a combined 61-7 score. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils gave the No. 1 Lowndes team all it wanted last Friday at Brodie Field in a 28-14 loss. The Devils will go to 2-1 in ultra tough 1-AAAAA.
