Owsley reinstated at Cook

— TIFTON — In a called meeting of the Cook County Board of Education, head baseball coach Bob Owsley was reinstated by a 4-0 vote, with one board member abstaining.
The school board voted 3-2 last week not to renew the Cook High coach’s contract.
Owsley led the Hornets to a 29-7 record this past season, which ended in the Class AA Final Four. He was named to the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame earlier this year. Owsley also took the Cook football team to the Final Four in 2000 as interim head coach.
Efforts to reach Cook High Principal Jute Wilson were unsuccessful.
