Rant and Raves for Dec. 26

Great play

“Kudos to the cast of ‘How Santa Got His Christmas Tree’ and to Dottie Freeman. What a wonderful play and what wonderful family entertainment. Thank you Dottie and cast for providing some wholesome family entertainment to our community.”

Mental health check

“Gun control isn't the answer. Mental health screening could be the beginning of a safer America.”

Don’t arm teachers

“I make that turn off of Carpenter onto Rainwater several times a day in a super-long wheelbase pickup truck. The secret to negotiating the turn (until it's fixed) is to give a turn signal well in advance and slow down enough to allow yourself to turn with precision. Yes, you might get rear-ended, but you won't go into the ditch.”

Be nice

“A scoreboard with a running tally of gun deaths? Ok... while we're at it, let's also have a scoreboard with a running tally of deaths due to drunk drivers. Then we can get on with the task of banning automobiles.”



Get it corrected

“On January 24, 2007, an article in the Tifton Gazette cited the fire danger and problems with protection of records at the Tift County Courthouse and in particular the Clerk of Courts office. Nothing has been done about that or the space problem.Isn't it time this was corrected commissioners?”
