Rant and Rave for Jan. 1, 2009
A different view
“Well, for the person in this morning’s paper talking about he would rather be back in the FDR days instead of in the days of the Bush administration, let me tell you. Back in the Roosevelt days there were a lot of people hungry for a long time before we got going and I for one was up to my belly button in snow and mud, being shot at. I felt a lot better under Bush than FDR. So everybody can’t agree on the same person, I’ll assure you.
Not so freaky
“I used to think Marilyn Manson was a total freak until I heard his interview on Michael Moore’s Bowling for Columbine, the part especially where he talks about America’s culture of fear and consumerism. Everybody can benefit from that little piece of video history.”
Honest person
“I want to thank Beth Hampton of Sunbelt Auction. Our community is lucky to have an honest and caring person like you. Thank you so much for picking up the lost bag of money in the road and finding how to return it to the owner. May God bless you! I wish you and your family a wonderful New Year.”
Brink of destruction
“Does any one besides me, wonder why these CEOs that make millions of dollars a year have led their companies to the brink of destruction? It is their job to be aware of changing issues and lead their companies in the right direction. They should all be fired for not doing their job.”
Let us know
“Believe it or not, I, too, was enjoying the beautiful day when I burnt my yard debris. If you had let me know that I was ruining your day, I would have been a good neighbor and put the fire out.”
