“The Gazette's editorial writer does not seem to appreciate the tremendous stress that the AIG executives who went on the $440,000 junket after receiving an $85 billion government loan were under. Stress causes nail biting; that's why pedicures were needed. Stress causes tension headaches; thus the golf. Stress causes digestive problems; thus the wining and dining. Ordinary employees being foreclosed don't have these kinds of problems and did not qualify for the junket, or for the generous bonuses for hard work involved in losing billions and on top of that seeing their stock portfolios decline as the market crashes.”

Victims’ fund

“A fund for the victims of Monday night's trailer explosion and fire has been set up at South Georgia Banking Company, Edmondson Family Fund.
