Rant and Rave for August 29, 2008

Good greeters

“I would like to leave a Rave for Mr. Ray Charles, Mr. Eddie Beckman, and Mr. Lee who are local employees of our local Wal-Mart. They are the friendliest store greeters that I have ever seen. As soon as you walk into the door, you see their smiling faces, giving you a pleasant shopping experience right off the rip. ...You never know how you brighten someone’s day with a simple gesture. So thank you for being the best door greeters that you are.”

Leave them here

“With the economy the way it is and employees being laid off, why are Tift County employees who live outside of Tift County allowed to take county cars home with them. Since they live outside the county, they should be made to leave the cars parked at their work building. That would cut down on gas used by these vehicles. After all, if they are using these vehicles they are not going home and getting their personal vehicle to come back and grocery shop or visit...”

Thank-you Rave

“The members of Omega Church of God would like to thank the fine people of Omega for helping out with our BBQ. It was a success. Thank you to everyone in Omega and the surrounding areas.”

Combine

“I am calling in regarding the money shortage that I keep hearing about the Board of Education system is having. They need to do like the state, other government and other private entities are doing. Quit having all these people in administrative positions. The state has directors that cover two or three different counties. At least our principals and our assistant principals can cover two or three schools in their county. That should save some money...”

Act of kindness

“Thank you to the woman who paid for our breakfast the other morning. Thank you for being so kind.”
