Kind and helpful
“A RAVE for Hospice of Tift Area. We needed people around us that knew what to do. Thank you for taking such good care of our Grandma and us. Everyone was so kind and helpful. We appreciate all that you did and continue to do for other families in need of you. Mrs. Garner's family”
Thank the veterans
“Ride through the cemetery and say a blessing thanking the veterans for our freedom to enjoy the Fourth of July.”
Lifesavers
“’Let's see,’ the TVA provided the power required to produce the first atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan. This brought an early end to the war and saved the lives of 1,000,000 American soldiers that were projected to be lost during the invasion of Japan. Don't talk about the farmers with your mouth full. Ask 100 retirees if they want to send back their Social Security checks.”
Simple solution
“To ‘Bad News’: Perhaps if you stopped at redlights you wouldn't have to worry about paying tickets!”
Unacceptable
“A BOE raise in taxes of 3.47 percent is unacceptable. Meetings are scheduled, but the handwriting is on the wall... The ‘new stadium’ will cost all of us. Isn't football the greatest...when do I get taxpayer season tickets? Isn't SPLOST really ‘Spending Peoples' Loot On Special Things...’ SPLOST was to cover it all...get real...election time is coming.”
Jobs for income
“I would like to set the record straight on FDR and welfare. FDR created the WPA (Work Programs of America) where the government created jobs for Americans so they could earn an income. A good example is Hoover Dam. My Grandfather got up at 4 in the morning to catch a train from Cordele to Waycross to cut fire breaks in the Okefenokee swamp. He worked all day till sundown and rode the train back home, to feed seven children. Later administrations took the work out of the program and just sent checks to the recipients instead.”
