Rant and Rave for July 1
Out of the picture
“...Every single problem in today's society, from healthcare to education, can be attributed to government involvement at some level. The answer to our problems is to get government out of the picture.”
On the map
“Congratulations, Cindy and Mandy with the Party Station, for being the Featured Business in Party and Paper magazine, a nationwide party industry publication. Another local business puts Tifton on the map!”
Respect appreciated
“I would like to thank the law enforcement officers of Tifton and Tift County for the honor that was expressed during the funeral procession Friday afternoon of our mother. Our officers stood in the blazing hot sun at the intersections, showing respect as our family passed through. This is a reverence that many other towns have chosen not to do in some areas of our country, but one that is recognized and appreciated, and I’m thankful to live in a town that still cares to show consideration for our loved ones.”
Excellent sermon
“Our minister, Rev. Glenn Martin at First United Methodist Church, this morning gave one of the best sermons that I have ever heard in my life, and it wouldn’t matter if you were a Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, or what you proclaim as your faith, this would benefit anybody that has any interest whatsoever as to what they are, saint or sinner, and even in the children’s message this morning it was very, very clear about wearing two hats. So you would benefit by watching that on the local TV. They show it two or three times during the week in the evenings. You might want to check with CityNet when that comes on or check on your screen. But again, it was the best I’ve ever heard.”
Two different things
“This is to ‘Food for thought.’ I’m a Christian. I follow Jesus’ teachings. I pay my offerings and tithes which support the cooperative program that helps the poor and the needy, not just here in America but throughout the world as well. And yes, this country is turning socialist.”
