Rant and Rave for May 20, 2008
Encourage trust
“So the BOE thinks testing will solve our drug problems. Relationships, preventive education, and PARENTS are what will change behaviors. Unfortunately, this testing scheme puts teachers and administrators as the bad guys rather than encouraging trust. Too bad the board didn't put any effort toward education and counseling as preventive measures.”
Mismanagement?
“It's called upkeep, not mismanagement. It takes money to keep it up. If you don't even have money to build it, then how are you going to keep the skatepark up? Why do you want the alleged ‘mismanagement’ people to keep up with your skatepark then? You have been given the land — move on and fundraise like you said. Let me guess: Now you want the money to build it also?”
Go ahead
“If you want to waste your money suing the BOE over random drug testing, go ahead. It has been upheld by the Supreme Court. You will end up paying the legal fees of the BOE!”
Another option
“This is to ‘Offender’s rights.’ If a dog is harrassing you on your property and you know who it belongs to, just call the sheriff on the owner. That will get their attention. If you don't know, then call the pound. The owner probably does not even care.”
Wonderful experience
“I have a rave for the sponsors of the Honor Flight III for World War II Veterans to Washington, D.C., this past Saturday. As a U.S. Navy veteran of 30 years, I was afforded an opportunity to visit the World War II Memorial. Thanks to all the sponsors for this wonderful experience!”
