Rant and Rave for May 14, 2008

How high?

“If you think food prices are high now due to these ethanol plants being built, how high do you think they’re going to be after they get all the ones that are proposed built? I say no ethanol plants built in Turner County or anywhere else, for that matter.”

Watch the mailbox

“I’d like to tell you that people had better watch their mailboxes. I mailed two letters this morning. One was to J.C. Penney with a good-sized check in it to pay them off for something I had purchased, and I also had a letter from the Republican Party asking for money, so they had an envelope in it with their stamps, saying they’d pay for it. Anyway, I wrote them a good thick letter and put that letter back in there, so it was pretty thick but I had already sent them a check. So the deal was, somebody came by and stole the letter that was to the Republican Party but left the one that had a check in it. It didn’t do me any harm, but if they’re stealing stuff out of the mailboxes people had better start watching it.”

Good deed

“This is a Rave for Glenn Snow. I would like the city of Tifton to know about the good deed that he performed May 6 out of the goodness of his heart. He reported my missing wallet to the Tifton Police Department, and I really appreciate what he did for me. My heart is filled with gratitude, and I pray that God continues to bless him and his family. Thank you to the Tifton Police Department and the Lenox department as well.”

Just vote

“This is written in response to, ‘Limited choices.’ Either Obama or McCain would be a vast improvement over our current administration. You could walk outside and throw a rock that would hit a better president than Mr. Bush. Vote Republican, Democrat, Green or Libertarian. Write in Johnny Cash or Frank Zappa if you must, but be sure to vote.”

Let voters decide

“Let the voters decide on a skate park. Personally, I do not want my tax dollars to be spent on a skate park.”
