John Christopher Robinson, 38, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Evers and the Rev. Chip Grantham officiating. Interment will follow at Blakely City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday at Northside Baptist Church.
Kevin Kilgore, Bryan Day, Jonathan Halstead, Anthony Fallin, Aaron Wise and Masai Dalton, Chris Ellis and Matt Deal will serve as pallbearers for Mr. Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was born May 27, 1974 in Tift County to the late Marlyn Robinson and Marion Page Robinson who resides in Byromville. A graduate of Tift County High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in music education from Shorter College, and his advanced degrees from Valdosta State University. He taught 15 years in the Tift County School system, and was a lifelong resident of Tift County. Mr. Robinson was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Kristi Parker Robinson who resides in Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Laura Robinson of Ellaville; one sister and brother-in-law, Ginger and Donnie Dean of Enterprise, Ala.; father and mother-in-law, Terry and Lynn Parker of Warner Robins; three nieces and four nephews. He is also survived by countless students who viewed him as a father.
