Garrett Lanier Justice

BLAKELY — Garrett Lanier Justice, 14, of Blakely, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blakely First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Newton will officiate. Burial will follow at Blakely Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight in the social hall of First United Methodist Church in Blakely.

Chandler Sumner, Cody Giles, K.J. Wynn, Antonio Jackson, Logan Bertrand, Brent Bowie and Jason Brackin will serve as pallbearers.

Garrett was born Oct. 9, 1995 in Athens to Matthew Lowell Justice and Amy Lyn Beggs Justice, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather, Garrett Jones, and his paternal great grandmother, Louise Bilbo Causey. He was a student at Early County High School and a member of Blakely First United Methodist Church.

Garrett is survived by his sister, Emily Louise Justice of Blakely; his maternal grandparents, Lola Jones Beggs and Michael Willis Beggs of Tifton; his paternal grandparents, Susan Causey Justice and Edgar Lowell Justice of Blakely; his maternal great-grandmother, Doris McGill Jones of Tifton; and his paternal great-grandfather, William Jackson Causey of Musella.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon International, P.O. box 109, Blakely, GA 39823; First United Methodist Church Kingdom Kids/X Treme Ministry, P.O. Box 587, Blakely, GA 39823; or to the Emily Louise Justice Fund, First State Bank, P.O. Box 587, Blakely, GA 39823.
