Kay P. Devane
NASHVILLE — Kay Parrish Devane, 85, of Nashville died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Luke, the Rev. Joe Eckstine and Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lovein Funeral Home.
Mr. Devane was born Aug. 24, 1924 in Berrien County to the late Kissam Parrish Devane and Eula Mae Nix. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Devane. He was a retired agent with the Georgia Department of Revenue and was also a farmer. He was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church and the Men’s Bible Class. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W. Nashville Post.
Mr. Devane is survived by his wife, Betty Rowan Devane of Nashville, to whom he was married to for 65 years; his daughters and sons-in-law, Vanne and Leon Tucker of Nashville and Mary Kay and Chris Welsh of Dothan, Ala.; sister, Betty Hancock of Nashville; brother, Toby Devane of Moultrie; and grandchildren, John and Kathryn Tucker and James and Margaret Welsh.
