Brenda Joyce Foster Perkins
TIFTON— Brenda Joyce Foster Perkins, 66, of Tifton died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 at Vista Care at Wesley Woods of Emory University in Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Roe, the Rev. Craig DeLoach and Dr. W. Ches Smith III officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
Scott Foster, Mike Foster, Dayle Jarrell, Clay Jarrell, Paul Allen, Greg James, Ron Frazier, Tim Wyatt, Tom Long and Sam Wagner will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Perkins was born March 28, 1942 in Columbus to Buford and Carrie Foster, both deceased. She worked as a secretary/receptionist at Tifton’s First Baptist Church for more than 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tifton, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and worked as a volunteer with the children’s choir. She had lived in Tifton for 47 years.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband of 47 years, Deryck Perkins of Tifton; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Perkins Trippe and her husband, Mark of Conyers; a son, Kris Perkins of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Ansley Trippe, Jordan Trippe and Summer Trippe; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Sandra Foster of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews and many brothers and sisters-in-law, who were like her own brothers and sisters.
