William M. Paulk Jr.
JUNEAU, Alaska — Juneau resident William M. Paulk, Jr. (Bill) died Sept. 7, 2007, at Providence Alaska Hospital.
He was born April 22, 1939 in Tifton. He graduated from Tifton High School in 1958 and three days later began his 22-year distinguished career in the United States Coast Guard. In 1963 he married hometown sweetheart Myrtle Wilson. Together they raised their two sons Ronnie and Rodney. He retired July 1, 1982, in Juneau, Alaska, and began his second career with the City and Borough of Juneau, Public Works Water Utilities in January 1983. He found great joy being a part of the USCG and CBJ. To say he loved his job would be an understatement.
He loved the outdoors; boating, fishing, camping, hunting, sports, travel and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Paulk, Sr., and mother Weylene Paulk of Tifton, and brother Milton of Burkburnett, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Myrtle; son Ron (Chris); granddaughter Jacinta; great-grandchildren Jasmine and Kevin, all of Anacortes, Wash.; son Rodney (Jamie) of Juneau; brothers Glenn of Tifton and Dana (Deborah) of Sharpsburg, and many nieces and nephews in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Texas.
He loved the sea and wished to have his ashes spread there. His family will honor that request.

OCILLA — W. F. “Fluker” Hudson Jr., 82, of Ocilla, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Frank Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Jerry Barrs and Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Frank Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Hudson was born June 14, 1925, in Irwin County, to the late William Fluker and Allie Collins Hudson. He lived in the Irwin community most of his life. Mr. Hudson was farmer and worked in the shipyards in Jacksonville, Fla., during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He was a Mason, former member of the young Farmers of Irwin County and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Mr. Hudson is survived by his children, Sandra Hudson, Ronald and Elaine Hudson and Gail Hudson and David Hobbs, all of Ocilla, Timothy and Doris Hudson of Broxton and Henry Lee Hall of Ocilla; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Varnell Jones of Americus; sisters-in-law Grace Hudson of Ocilla and Wilma Hudson of Panama City, Fla., as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Hudson and Russell Hudson, and three sisters, Lois Myrick, Frances Thompson and Reba Mixon.
