John Marvin Luke
ENIGMA — John Marvin Luke, 64, of Enigma, died Thursday, Nov.19, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jim Duggan and Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Vickers Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
David McMahon, Andrew Bennett, Michael Joiner, Bruce Goodman, Jerry Alexander and William Luke will serve as pallbearaers.
Born Nov. 11, 1945, in Berrien County to John Henry Luke and Stella Howard Luke, both deceased, Mr. Luke was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle who raised him, Alfred and LaVada Heaton; three sisters; and three brothers.
Mr. Luke, a lifetime resident of Enigma, was an over-the-road truck driver and previously had been a heavy equipment operator with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a Christian and loved to watch Rev. John Hagee on television. He was a firm father who loved his family and friends.
Mr. Luke is survived by his wife, Aline Stinton Luke of Enigma; his children, John Keith (Robin) Luke and Teresa Luke (Wesley) Lindsey, all of Enigma, Anna Luke (Chris) Girone of Nashville and Chris (Kimberly) Luke of Tifton; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Geneva and Charles Kirkland of Perropville, Texas, Jean and Bobby Joiner of Willacoochee, Judy and Eugene Gaskins of Nashville, Willene Heaton of Enigma, Linda Gail and Dan Stephens of Hinesville, Martha Nell Vazquez, Nita and Bert Oberry of Cochran, Melvin and Linda Luke of Alexander City, Ala., and Jack Heaton of Enigma.
