George Terrell
TIFTON — George Monroe Terrell, 78, of Tifton, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Adam Tucker and the Rev. Mark Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Tommy Johnson, Ronnie Duncan, Simmie McKeown, Timmy Terrell and Colen Terrell will serve as pallbearers. Ronnie Bennett, Donald Harnage, T. J. Johnson, Michael Kearce and Lambert and Imogene Hall will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born Feb. 11, 1931, in Coosa County, Ala., to Melston Terrell and Edna P. Flornoy, both deceased, Mr. Terrell was also preceded in death by four sisters and one son.
Mr. Terrell was a retired truck driver. He had been a member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church, Tifton, for five years. Mr. Terrell loved to fish and travel. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger.
Mr. Terrell is survived by his wife, Bobbie Elizabeth Daniels Terrell of Tifton; three sons and one daughter-in-law, George M. and Cherry Terrell of Albany, Tommy Ray Terrell of Church Point, La., and James M. Terrell of Woodville, Fla.; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Lynn and Frankie Burnham of Tifton; two grandchildren, Christopher Terrell and Daniel Burnham; two brothers, Marvin Terrell and Allen Terrell, both of Doerun; two sisters, Ruby Dean Wareham of Mount Holly, N.J., and Edna Butts of Moultrie; and two special sisters-in-law, Inez McBrayer and Nancy Hall.
