Johnny Jones
LEESBURG — Johnny Ashley Jones, 75, of Leesburg went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. A Celebration of Life memorial service honoring Johnny will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Steve McBrayer officiating and a private burial to follow. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Lupton Sr., Ronnie Sullivan, Keith Lupton Jr., Ash Spurlock, Wayne Bell, Matt Kierce, Robbie Mercer and Chris Bell.
Mr. Jones was born Feb. 27, 1934 in Hazlehurst and was the son of James Carroll Jones Sr. and Anzer Lee Crumley Jones, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, Wayne McDaniel; one brother, James Carroll Jones Jr.; and one sister, Bonnie Lee Nahas. He was the owner of Custom Upholstery and a sales representative for Delta Partners Inc. Mr. Jones was an ordained Baptist minister and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He had lived in the Albany-Leesburg area since 1976.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Vera Doris Moye Jones of Leesburg; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Bonnie and Keith Lupton of Leesburg, Pamela Jones of Panama City Beach, Fla., Sandra and Ronnie Sullivan of Palm Coast, Fla., Linda Bell of Tifton and Judy Mercer of Tifton; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
