James C. Mills
ALAPAHA — James Charlie Mills, 94, of Alapaha died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at Berrien County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter and the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville.
Mr. Mills was born July 14, 1915 in Wilcox County to the late Charles Pinkney Mills and Nancy Aldridge. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Louise Bellflower Mills, who died Feb. 20, 2009; two brothers, William Mills and George Mills; and six sisters, Maude Eaton, Birdie Tucker, Betsy White, Nancy Mills, Lucy Hewitt and Pearl Deloach. He was a retired farmer and attended the Alapaha Church of God.
Mr. Mills is survived by his daughters, Wilma Woodruff of Nashville and Sue Mikell of Ray City; son, L.T. Mills of Fitzgerald; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Callis Pauline Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla.
Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
