SYLVESTER — Christopher “Chris” Carter, 33, of Sylvester died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
John Carter, Richard Carter, Preston Jefferson, Robbie Monroe, Wayne Monroe and Fredrick Jefferson will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Carter was born Feb. 4, 1976 in Pahokee, Fla., and was the son of Richard D. Carter Sr. of Pierson, Fla., and Lynda Padgett Jefferson of Sumner. He was employed by Burger King and was a member of Bethel Baptist Tabernacle in Sumner. He graduated from Worth County High School in 1995.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Burns Carter of Sylvester; brothers and sister-in-law, Preston Eugene Jefferson of Sumner, Richard D. Carter Jr. of Sylvester and John Thomas and Melissa Carter of Sumner; sister, Michelle Carter of Pierson, Fla.; brother-in-law, Matt Burns of Michigan; and six nieces and nephews, Shawn Carter, Arron Fletcher, Sonia Cordero, Nicole Gepner, Mary Ann Burns and Brook Burns.
