Burglary arrest made

TIFTON — Local officers with the Tift County Sheriff’s Office responded sometime after 8 p.m. Tuesday to an alarm at Fender Peanut, located in the 200 block of Windy Hill Road.

According to an incident report filed at the TCSO, officer Wingate Whitley reported that he, along with other units, responded to the business. He advised that the suspect was located and arrested after a brief chase and struggle.

The report states that Lamar Brown, 45, 106 Griffin St., was charged with burglary and obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers without force.

In an unrelated case, a man reported Tuesday that someone entered a residence located in the 400 block of Prince Lane by going underneath the house and removing all of the copper electrical wiring. He told police that it will take an estimated $2,000 to replace and repair; a severely moderate amount of damage was also noted during the taking of the copper. The man advised that the power meter was also stolen.
