Adel man killed, Tifton man injured in shooting

An Adel man was killed and a Tifton was injured during a shooting Saturday at The Blue Flame nightclub in Nashville, according to a press release by the Nashville Police Department.

Roland Jerry Bryant III, 22, of Adel was killed, and Mealo Alford, 24, of Tifton was injured.

Early Saturday morning, officers of the Nashville Police Department responded to a report of gunfire at The Blue Flame, a club near the intersection of Marion Avenue and North Mathis Street in Nashville.

At about 1:30 a.m., NPD officers and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and found two men outside the nightclub with gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to the Berrien County Hospital, where Bryant was later pronounced dead. Alford was later transported to South Georgia Medical Center, where he was in guarded condition Saturday afternoon.

Bryant’s body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.

The press release said that the details of the shooting remain “sketchy.” It also said an intense investigation by the Nashville Police Department, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI continues and every possible lead is being followed.
