Man dies Saturday in Ty Ty a accident

TIFTON — A well-known Tifton bail bondsman was killed Saturday morning while helping to trim a limb from a pecan tree on Wood Road in Ty Ty.

Sirman Dillard, 69, died when he fell back and struck his head while holding a ladder, Coroner Steve Wood said. "It was an accident, but I'm not sure exactly whether the limb hit the ladder or how it happened. The ladder somehow fell and he fell backwards and hit his head. He didn't fall out of the tree."

Dillard's business is located on Third Street, and according to several different Internet listings also owned a Moultrie office.

Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors is in charge of funeral arrangements, but they have not been announced yet.
