Accused shooter out on bond

By Angie Thompson, Senior Reporter

TIFTON — A man charged in connection with the Aug. 25 shooting of a Ty Ty man was released on a $10,000 bond Oct. 28.

Joseph Simon Ware, 32, of Ty Ty, had just closed his business, Joe’s Pawn Shop, and was walking to his home nearby when he was approached by two assailants, Capt. Mike Walker of Tift County Sheriff’s Office said in an article which ran in The Tifton Gazette.

Walker said Ware was shot more than once “in his extremities,” and suffered a laceration to his head.

Arlester Jackson Jr., 32, 828 Poplar St., Ty Ty, was charged a few days after Ware was assaulted. He was charged with aggravated assault.

“We are actively seeking information on the case and urge anyone with information to give us a call,” Walker said then. “There are other participants and we are still seeking them.”

According to court records, Tift Superior Court Judge Melanie Cross set Jackson’s bond.
