TIFTON — The truck belonging to an Ashburn man sought in connection with the murder of a Ty Ty man was found in Cordele Monday night and law enforcement agents are combing the area following up on reported sightings of the fugitive.

Steve Wood, chief deputy of the Turner County Sheriff’s Office, said Tuesday that the red 2000 GMC Sierra four-by-four truck belonging to Nathan Emmanuel Holley, 34, of Ashburn, was found in Cordele at 10:30 Monday night. A murder warrant was issued for Holley for the murder of Tommy Wayne Giles, 58, of Ty Ty, who died as a result of gunshot(s) to the head. A landowner found Giles’ body on Bobby Reeves Road in Turner County Sept. 27.

Wood has said that Holley is an avid hunter. He didn’t know Tuesday if any weapons were found in the truck.

“We didn’t go in the truck,” Wood said. “The truck was taken to the GBI office in Perry and they are processing it today.”

Agents with the Turner and Crisp counties sheriff’s offices have distributed flyers to residences and businesses in Cordele and Crisp County and searched in wooded areas since Holley was reportedly spotted on Tremont Road. The flyer lists details about Holley’s description — 5’11”, 200 pounds, reddish-brown hair, tattoo of a sword and a rose on his upper right arm. A $500 reward is offered for information leading to Holley’s capture.

Wood said that one person reported seeing someone who looked like Holley walking alone on the edge of some deer woods Saturday and that the man they saw was carrying a backpack. Wood urged anyone who suspects they have spotted Holley to call E-911 with the sighting immediately.

“Residents don’t need to approach him,” Wood said.

No motive for Giles’ murder has been released by law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation. It is known that Holley and Giles worked together at C & S Builders in Ty Ty.

Wood said a story about missing Holley and the death of Giles will be featured on an America’s Most Wanted episode to be aired Saturday if Holley is not captured before then.
