Fire Department gets best report card for customer service

City Clerk Rona Martin told city council members Thursday that a customer service survey conducted through the City of Tifton newsletter had come back with good grades for the city’s services. “We’re really pleased with the results,” Martin said.

There were 184 surveys returned. Customers were asked to give the various departments a grade of A (4 points), B (3 points), C (2 points), D (1 point) or F (0 points).

The highest grade, a B plus, was given to the Fire Department.

The lowest grades, a C plus, were given to streets, code enforcement, planning and zoning and Main Street.

Departments that received a grade of B included: CityNet, natural gas, water and sewer, garbage/yard trash, landfill/recycling, police, animal control, senior center and the city’s customer service department.

Martin said that she was pleased “no one scored a C.”

City Manager Mike Vollmer complimented Martin on the results and said, “These kind of comments are remarkable.”
