The driver of a Lexus that flipped three times after driving off Interstate 75 near the Southwell Boulevard exit early Tuesday was transported to Macon Medical Center in critical condition.
According to Georgia State Trooper Dana Harnage of Tifton’s Post 13, Donald Warren, 17, was traveling north on I-75 when he passed a car near Exit 59 at Southwell Boulevard. According to a witness, Warren had just passed another car and was moving into the right-hand lane when he drove off the roadway. The car turned sideways and it’s front side hit a guardrail before the vehicle flipped three times. Authorities said the car was a total loss.
Harnage said Warren wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Tift Regional Medical Center and then sent to Macon Medical Center for treatment. Back-seat passenger Jamaar McKenzie, 29, was partially ejected. According to a spokesperson at Tift Regional Medical Center, McKenzie is in fair condition. A front-seat passenger, Eric Carey, managed to crawl out of the vehicle and was transported to Tift Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
