Three people were found dead and one person was found injured early this morning at a location on Innis Road, located off of Highway 319 South near Omega, said Maj. Bobby Brannen of the Tift County Sheriff's Office.
Brannen said shortly before 6:30 a.m., a call came in to the 911 center about a person being shot. He stated that deputies responded and were able to talk to that individual who made the call.
The caller told authorities that there were people who had been shot down the road from her.
Brannen noted that the shooting occurred at one location.
"We have two persons who are deceased at the scene, and the person who we believe is the perpetrator is also deceased at the scene," he stated. "We have a victim who survived and sustained gunshot wounds and was life-flighted (to somewhere)."
At this moment, Brannen couldn't say to what hospital the victim was life-flighted.
He said the coroner's office, several of their investigators and GBI were on scene.
"This investigation is still in the early stages," Brannen said.
Brannen was unable to release any names or additional information Monday morning. He told The Gazette Monday evening that the GBI had taken charge of the investigation and expected to release more information Tuesday.
