BERRIEN COUNTY —
Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials are in Alapaha following a bank robbery this morning.
The Bank of Alapaha on Railroad Street was robbed by at least two people, who left a suspicious package on the counter, telling bank employees the package contained a bomb. One of the suspects was carrying a shotgun. No one was hurt during the robbery, and an undislosed amount of money was taken.
The suspects are being searched for by law enforcement, and the GBI Bomb Disposal Unit was called in to dispose of the package.
