A Tifton man was killed in a single vehicle traffic crash Sunday night near Chula, says Senior Trooper S.P. Jenkins with the Georgia State Patrol Post 13.
Jenkins said the accident occurred at 7:15 p.m. on Georgia 7, north of Chula in Tift County. He said 24-year-old Kenova B. Solomon of Tifton was a passenger in a SUV driven by King James Capone Green, 19, also of Tifton. Green’s SUV, a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, exited the roadway and rolled over in a field. Solomon was ejected and killed.
SFC Brian Gay, Tifton’s GSP post commander, said Solomon was not wearing a seat belt and they’re unsure if Green was. He noted Green lost control of the SUV and before overturning, he struck a fence.
Jenkins said Green was treated at Tift Regional Medical Center for injuries. Gay added that he has been transported to a hospital in Macon and they don’t believe his injuries are critical. He noted that Green was talking on the night of the accident.
Jenkins said charges are pending. The crash is being investigated by the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team for Troop H.
